Virtual Book Club for Alzheimer’s Caregivers
Alzheimer’s Caregivers can participate in a Virtual Book Club, facilitated by the Alzheimer’s Care Resource Center. Although a Book Club gathering is different from attending a caregiver support group, the meeting gives caregivers a chance to get away from their caregiving responsibilities and spend some time with other caregivers who also love to read!
Not all caregivers have the time to sit down and read an entire book, but this months Virtual Book Club selection was chosen because it allows caregivers to read those chapters that apply to their unique situation, and then gives them the chance to participate and share with others.
October’s Virtual Book Club selection is the New York Times Best Seller “Passages in Caregiving: Turning Chaos Into Confidence”, by Gail Sheehy. You can purchase the book here. Copies are also available to borrow by visiting the Alzheimer’s Care Resource Center in Lake Worth. If you can’t make it in, call us and we will try to mail you a copy!
Gail Sheehy, author of the groundbreaking Passages—which was a New York Times bestseller for more than three years—now brings us Passages in Caregiving. In this essential guide, the acclaimed expert on the now aging Baby Boomer generation outlines nine crucial steps for effective, successful family caregiving, turning chaos into confidence during this most crucial of life stages.
The Virtual Book Club meeting will be held on October 30th from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. You can call the Alzheimer’s Care Resource Center to register or for more information at 877-760-9199
